Fans at the Super Bowl this weekend were treated to a halftime performance I think everyone was excited to see. Unfortunately, it seems we were treated to a snot bubble that was formally known as The Who. There were a lot of fans with high expectations coming into this performance, considering such previous acts as Tom Petty and The Boss.
Taking age into consideration, Townshend was great, but Daltrey left a lot to be desired. It seemed like Daltrey was off key, even with obvious production help he was not able to hit proper notes to "Wont Get Fooled Again." Stage presence was even not Who-like, looking like a retarded Tony Little trying to dazzle fans with ridiculous choreography.
The highlight of the performance was the amazing LED stage and light show put on by the production team. It was apparent CBS had a hand in the playlist as I found myself oddly interested in finding one of the twelve channels playing C.S.I. reruns Sunday night. I'm positive at that very moment, Horatio Caine was putting sunglasses over another pair of sunglasses.
